Elderly
The elderly can be a forgotten generation on the fringes of our society, sometimes given little value given to them. At the Light Project we want to show love, respect and dignity to older people who might be living in nursing homes or those who are housebound. We look to provide help within the community by offering services such as shopping, chatting, handy work, cleaning, laundry etc. sharing God's love with them through actions.
Zahra's take: "It's really encouraging to spend time with people who have so much experience and great stories to share. Residents at a local nursing home were so grateful to be shown value, and to have someone interested in them as equal members of the community."
