Learn how to share the good news in innovative ways
At The Light College, all of our courses are designed to prepare our students to share the good news of Jesus in the most innovative and context-sensitive ways, while at the same time nurturing a deep devotional life and a good grounding in theology. We are an official partner of The University of Chester and all of our lecturers are university approved, with a wide range of experience and practical knowledge, passionate about their faith.
Study part- or full-time from anywhere in the UK
Study can be done either part- or full-time, and can be accessed from anywhere in the UK as all lectures are taught during six residential weekends.
We accept students from a wide variety of backgrounds, ages and academic ability
Our students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and ages. We offer good academic and pastoral support, so don’t let concerns about academic ability prevent you from exploring further – the main thing we look for is a sense of vocation and a sincere heart to share the gospel.
University Degree courses in Theology, Mission and Evangelism
An innovative approach to mission and evangelism
Through our partnership with the University of Chester, we offer a Foundation Degree of Arts (FdA) over 2 years full-time or 3 years part-time and a Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA) over 3 years full-time and 5 years part-time. These courses combine lectures, practice based learning and placements designed to help students explore and develop their own approach to mission and evangelism in the 21st century.
Accredited Baptist Ministerial Training
Develop your pioneering and mission skills
While studying on a Degree course (above), students simultaneously have a pathway into accredited Baptist ministry training with a particular emphasis on pioneering and mission. This training is offered in partnership with Northern Baptist College who provide the Baptist Ministerial Formation element.
Professional Certificate in Pioneer Chaplaincy
Bring the presence of Christ into unexpected places
In partnership with Third Space Ministries, this new qualification is a one-year course which teaches how to bring the presence of Christ into unexpected places like supermarkets, gyms, pubs and nightclubs amongst people who have little idea of who Jesus is.
